Top 10 things every 200L University student needs to know

Why did no-one ever tell me about this before...?

I'm sure by now, whatever CGPA you got in 100lvl has slapped you 95° back into reality. Maybe it was a "5.0", or maybe a "1.5". Well, whatever it is, you've got some idea of what you did wrong, and what you did right.

Here's a bit of friendly, not-rubbing-it-in-your-face, advice to get your pep and step back on the right track. (If it was ever there)


1. Stick to the right crowd 

Not this crowd. This is an example of the wrong crowd. Don't be like this crowd.

Deep in your heart, you know all those people dragging you to go to parties 3 times a week aren't good for your soul.

Starting now, Greet them with a "Hello from the other side". Or at least, get some friends that read a lot, to keep your wild cravings in check. Half-and-half good crowd is better than none.

2. Stuuuudyyyy

Oh my. So interesting. I am sooooo loving this.
I'm having the time of my life right now.

Seriously!
Sit your glamorous behind down, and open those books.
If you can't read for long, then break it up into segments. Force yourself into four 30-min reading segments every evening at the very least. You will come back with thanksgiving testimonies. Tag us in your first class.

And don't just read it like a story book, please. Jot down!! Memorize!! Rehearse points with your friends!! If you're going to spend time doing what you don't enjoy too much, you might as well not make it a waste.



3. Meet the old boys and girls

So, youngster.... you have come for my wisdom, eh?

I don't mean the old men and women in your set, no. (No offense to anyones' age o 😆).
I'm talking about the seniors in your department. They probably didn't get to the next level simply with luck. (...well, most of them)

Look for the serious ones. You don't need to become like them. Just get their tips and tricks and return to your lane😏. Life is simple.



4. Write a scholarship exam!!

hehehe. Bout to get this money!!

You don't even need to be too smart to pass these. Depending on the school you're in, it may end up being just pocket money to you since it's small (From 100k to 200k), but hey! - it's free money😃. Imagine getting paid for being yourself. Friggin awesome, I say.

Google them. Or go to scholastica.com.ng to register and find one, when it comes out.



5. The opposite sex is not the universe

I will tell your mummy for you.

Sure. Some people are attractive af. Like me 😃(runs away from people throwing objects angrily). But there are 8 billion people in the world. There is ALWAYS someone finer. There are "harder abs", and there are also "softer behinds".

Being in a relationship isn't a bad thing. For some people, it's even healthy and helpful👍. But if you, or your partner, is getting unhealthily obsessed, and you spend every evening staring at the stars that don't care 'skrrrr raaa' about you, then maybe you should step back a little. Or a lot . A whole lot.



6. The time is NOW

What?! No?! I'll do it later~!!
Stop shouting at me!! *sobs*

Let's be honest here. Procrastination is the enemy of everybody, and sleep likes to form as if it is your best friend. Na lie.

Please stand up and do your work. Maybe you're meant to wash your clothes, or get a report ready, or exercise so you don't get fat.

You know you can do it right now. Please go. Unless you're reading more blog articles - in that case read like 3 or 4 more, then go. 😃😁🙈



7. Explore wildly!!

Take this chance while it's here!!
Use it now!!

If you're in a 4-year course, this means you've got 2 years left here. This is the time to check out if you've got talents for singing, modelling, writing, acting, leading, speaking, designing and all sorts of things out there.

Play around with talents. You could be the next Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, or even better - the only YOU.



8. Dream big.

By now, after being bombarded with all sorts of new experiences in 100lvl, you've seen that the world is a much bigger place than you thought it was - with a great diversity of people, both good and bad. Your sights have been upgraded, and now you can upgrade your dreams too. Remember - If your dreams don't scare you, then maybe they're not big enough.

Make the universe record your name. Be the real Big Bang, and not just the theory.


9. Save moneyyyyyy!!!!

♫ A-A-A-A-A~milli... ♫

Do I even need to stress this out to you? Take out a large sum from your pocket money, leaving just enough to eat and drink water. I could almost swear that you'll thank me for it later.

All that money will definitely find away to come in handy. I can't wait 😃



10. Help your juniors!!

Out of my way noob

Look at them. Running around like small children, not knowing half of what they're doing.
You know how confused and annoyed you were at this stage. Do something about it. You may even become famous. I know some people that did this and blew. 😁😊😉

But I don't mean go and collect people for 'night duty'. It's like that's what's hungering everyone these days.
