It was a cold rainy night as usual, which seemed to be occurring more frequently and we were all gathered round as we did every night. It occurred to me that we were just sad, and we were definitely not doing anything about it.

Afraid
[5 min read]
I'm sitting with my friends, at least that's how I feel sometimes. Everyone seemed to be laughing at something they saw or what someone said, and I was also laughing, but I was laughing so my insecurities wouldn't show; I was laughing so I wouldn't have to explain why I was lost.

The Change

I met her on my first day and we undeniably clicked, we quickly became best friends. I met the second person a year later and I introduced them to each other. A few weeks later, I started to wonder if I had made a mistake.

THE NIGHT GRANDMA DIED
[3 min read]
Mother became an orphan that night.
The night was warm, and I was in my room relaxing from the day's work when I heard shouting from the room grandma stayed in. I sprinted to her room, trying as hard as I could to imagine positive things, pushing the negatives out of my mind...
...we need to get her to the hospital
...tires screeching
...I'm sorry but I can't feel a pulse
...she can't be dead

Being a BUT
[4 min read]
In a world where things literally have gone upside down, being true to who you are and letting the world know is a risky risk.

I know the world is messed up, and finding good people is like taking the ring to Mount Doom in Mordor 😎. There are, however, good people. You may have met some, you may be one. I bet you've even met some in unexpected places right? Well, I am one of the good ones (ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜is someone doubting me??) and boy, have I had issues with other good people-good people with bad experiences. Really bad experiences.

The Cat Came Down
[2min Read]
The Pastor had a kitten that climbed up a tree in his backyard and then was afraid to come down. The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk, etc. The kitty would not come down. The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided that if he tied a rope to his car and drove away so that the tree bent down, he could then reach up and get the kitten.
That's what he did, all the while checking his progress in the car. He then figured if he went just a little bit farther, the tree would be bent sufficiently for him to reach the kitten. But as he moved the car a little farther forward, the rope broke.
The tree went "boing!" and the kitten instantly sailed through the air-out of sight. The pastor felt terrible. He walked all over the neighborhood asking people if they'd seen a little kitten. No. Nobody had seen astray kitten. So he prayed, "Lord, I just commit this kitten to your keeping," and went on about his business...

OH! DEAR PAIN.
"You can't be serious Phoebe, can you hear yourself?"; He said; 'Babe I love you, I can't do this without you, I can't function, you drive me."
"Stop getting me worked up please, I hate it when you use the personal pronoun."
He continued; "Shit! Alright, I'm sorry, isn't apology what you need? Here it is. Honey you know we belong together."
Just don't make the mistake of saying 'I' next time, it's always 'we', I hate correcting that. Please always say 'we'."
"But that's the problem', she said; Chris you yell and rain insults over unnecessary 'choses'. This isn't meant to be an issue, I don't even know when I said 'I'. I think I need a break from all this, it's so overwhelming."
"What the frack are you talking about?", With clenched teeth, he wished she was with him at the moment, he would really hit some sense in.
'You're my answered prayer. Phoebe, on the 1st of January, I prayed for a soul mate and God gave you to me, can't you see that we're meant for each other? Baby you complete me. No one can love you like I do. Alright just forget this happened, let's move past this Duchess."
"Hello, hello, are you there? I hate it when you're this quiet, it's either we're in this or we aren't and so help me "Mon Dieu", baby mind your response.' "
With shaky hands, she hung up and switched off her phone. She slumped on her feet, and buried her face in her palms, tears building castles and mucus dripping. "How on earth did I get to this point in my life?", she thought.
I'm only 21 years, I can't handle all this at my age. I'm too "jeune" for all these baggage. Utterly confused, she remembered "le jour" she met Chris; A working student looking to earn extra pennies for her bogus school work et al. All thanks to her father who thinks her studying "la musique" is a classic curse from the gods and would have nothing to do with supporting her financially. Her "pauvre mere" can only try, her crayfish business didn't thrive as much as before. She had evening shifts after school in one of the fast foods within. It was during one of those working hours that she met Chris. He was everything she didn't want in a man; Muscular and firm, looked like a heavyweight boxer, fair and has an amazing "visage". A sweet talker and quite the orator. He smiled as he walked up to the counter. And boy, was he fine! His well set dentition didn't help "les affaires" either.
"Can I have Farm fresh yoghurt please and a sausage roll?" The words rolled out of his lips so well, in a nano second, she wasn't in control of her body movements, they were all working against each other. She managed to get his orders without burning her fingers. She can't be falling for this guy.
Phoebe are you stupid? But he was like a breath of fresh air, like he walked out of TRJ Sunday style magazine.
"You're really pretty, Can I have your number, seems you're busy. We could talk some more when you're less 'occupée' ". This dude isn't cut out for long stories, and he's damn precise "aussi".
Well, she's sorry but he has met "le faux" person this evening. With courage from nowhere, she put up the most serious look and said "No Sir, I don't think it's necessary to have my number and if you don't mind, I've got others to attend to". She wasn't gonna bulge, he should take his handsome face elsewhere. Next s'il vous plaît.
He was shocked to the marrows. Women don't say 'no' to him, especially not her kind, she looked so fragile that he thought she would be malleable.
Even he could have sworn she fell for his charms few minutes ago, or did he misread something? No no no, "les femmes" don't reject his advances, it doesn't work that way. Well, time would tell. He was in town for the next few days so there is "beaucoup de" time.
After he left, Phoebe couldn't stop thinking about this guy, the air around him wasn't cool but she felt so drawn to breathe it still. She didn't like the effect he had on her but he seemed so virile and dapper. But then she had too much drama going on in her life, was she ready for more? Was she?

Deeper
A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.
As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautifully wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angry, he raised his voice to his father and said "With all your money, you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Be The Smart One
Many years ago in a small Indian Village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village moneylender. The Moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmer’s beautiful Daughter. So he proposed a bargain.
He said he would forgo the farmer’s debt if he could marry his Daughter. Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the Proposal.

10 centimeters
A man bought a new pair of trousers for his primary school mates reunion dinner. When he tried out at home, he found that the trousers were too long by 10cm. He asked his mother to help him shorten the pants. His mother said she could not do it as she was not feeling well and would like to rest early.
So the man approached his wife to shorten his pants. His wife said she was very tired and had a lot of work to do that night, so she could not help him to shorten the pants that night. Then the man asked his daughter. His daughter apologized for not able to do it that night because she had agreed to go dancing with her boyfriend
“Ah well!” The man thought and decided he could wear his old trousers to the reunion.
Later that night, his mother thought to herself, “My son has been very nice to me. I’ll just help him to shorten his pants before going to rest.” So she shortened the pants by 10cm.

Carry it anyway
Brenda was a young woman who was invited to go rock climbing. Although she was scared to death, she went with her group to a tremendous granite cliff.
In spite of her fear, she put on the gear, took a hold on the rope, and started up the face of that rock. Well, she got to a ledge where she could take a breather. As she was hanging on there, the safety rope snapped against Brenda's eye and knocked out her contact lens. Well, here she is on a rock ledge, with hundreds of feet below her and hundreds of feet above her. Of course, she looked and looked and looked, hoping it had landed on the ledge, but it just wasn't there. Here she was, far from home, her sight now blurry. She was desperate and began to get upset, so she prayed to the Lord to help her to find it.

Life like a Bible
His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans and no shoes. This was literally is wardrobe for his entire four years of college. He is brilliant. Kind of esoteric and very, very bright. He became a Christian recently while attending college.
Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative church. One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair. The service has already started and So Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat.
The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything. Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit and, when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet. (Although perfectly acceptable behavior at a college fellowship, trust me, this had never happened in this church before!

Water Drops
It was one of the hottest days of the dry season. We had not seen rain in almost a month. The crops were dying. Cows had stopped giving milk. The creeks and streams were long gone back into the earth. It was a dry season that would bankrupt several farmers before it was through.
Every day, my husband and his brothers would go about the arduous process of trying to get water to the fields. Lately this process had involved taking a truck to the local water rendering plant and filling it up with water. But severe rationing had cut everyone off. If we didn't see some rain soon... we would lose everything.
It was on this day that I learned the true lesson of sharing and witnessed the only miracle I have seen with my own eyes. I was in the kitchen making lunch for my husband and his brothers when I saw my six-year old son, Billy, walking toward the woods. He wasn't walking with the usual carefree abandon of a youth but with a serious purpose. I could only see his back. He was obviously walking with a great effort...trying to be as still as possible.

Confidence, The Superpower
The business executive was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.
Suddenly an old man appeared before him. “I can see that something is troubling you,” he said. After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.”

The empty egg
Jeremy Forrester was born with a twisted body and a slow mind. At the age of 12 he was still in second grade, seemingly unable to learn. His teacher, Doris Miller, often became exasperated with him. He would squirm in his seat, drool, and make grunting noises. At other times, he spoke clearly and distinctly, as if a spot of light had penetrated the darkness of his brain. Most of the time, however, Jeremy just irritated his teacher.

The Square Watermelon
Japanese grocery stores had a problem. They are much smaller than shops in the USA and therefore don’t have room to waste. Watermelons, big and round, wasted a lot of space. Most people would simply tell the grocery stores that watermelons grow round and there is nothing that can be done about it.
That is how majority of people would respond. But some Japanese farmers took a different approach. If the supermarkets wanted a square watermelon, they asked themselves, ‘How can we provide one?’ It wasn’t long before they invented the square watermelon.
The solution to the problem of round watermelons was not to solve as the farmers did not assume it was impossible – and simply asked how it could be done.
They found out that if you put the watermelon in a square box when they are growing, the watermelon will take on the shape of the box – and grow into a square fruit.

Because attitude is everything
READ THIS. LET IT REALLY SINK IN.
THEN CHOOSE HOW YOU START YOUR DAY TOMORROW.
THEN CHOOSE HOW YOU START YOUR DAY TOMORROW.
Michael is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say.
When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, “If I were any better, I would be twins!”...

What is good, and what is bad?
Most of us divide-up our life experience into those we like and those we don’t. But the Taoist masters teach us to look deeper. In the flow of yin and yang everything is constantly changing into its opposite. The more we live with awareness of the inevitable tides of the Tao, the more it seems superficial and misguided to reject some experiences and try to hold onto others. It is better to accept the wholeness of life.
