When The Carnival Came...

So on Thursday 4 weeks ago, the AMSA Social Director - Alex Omotoso, with his capable team, decided to throw some flavour into the soup that is medical life in Ido(ABUAD).

Here are a few highlights of the Super Duper Flavourfest.

First I'd like you to meet the organizers. The spices.
(Do you recognize them? Give them a shoutout in the comments section if you do, and send them the link. ;)

So now, it's pretty simple. All you need is a ton of money, and lots of slave labour in the shape of friends.
A friend in need, is a friend indeed.

We had canopies everwhere of course...
Yknow... To shelter us from this everlasting fire called sun.

Let's not forget the beautiful band
Playing music I really didn't understand a single word of.

Then the people hired to wiggle-jiggle their bodies around for our apparent entertainment...
wiggle, wiggle, wiggle...

Of course, the DJ was on point
You know... playing other peoples music.

We can't forget our wonderful MC
It was funny when he told jokes that weren't funny...

Now remember, In every carnival, there just has to be games like pool
Let loose!

Chess
You can see this poor med student losing to the genius child

Ludo
A classic game, really

WHOT became a serious something that day
Enemies were made. Friendships were lost.

Table tennis
So you can dab with the tennis paddle

FIFA, Basketball, Naruto
Because HD graphics + air conditioner = happiness

We had lots of categories of people around in the carnival...
Because you know Nigerians like turnup too much

From the people who always look cute...
Wink wink*

To the doctors who still know how to have a great time with their students...
♫ ni ojuelegba o, dem know my story..... ♫

To the Ido Complex officials who made sure we had fun, and didn't let us do it alone...
Youth is all about perspective!!

To the nursing students who graced our occasion, like flowers to our grass field...
*Snap*

To the people that came to slay, with their hair waving in HD slow-mo...
swish, swish....

Then the people that are just photogenic....
I should be here      Hehehehe

To the photographers looking for that perfect shot
Move to position!! You think this is a joke??

To the financial Secretary trying to calculate how to get all this spent money back...
Alex...

Of course, we can't forget the protocol people, they slay everyday, and every way.
She woke up like this... She woke up like this...

Then, you just can't forget about the multifaceted business opportunities that sprouted up
This recession is not a joke again.

Makeup to hide away, and mask, your sorrows
Because beauty is now expensive

Facepaint; to bring out your inner child -  and for the children, to bring out that beautiful unburdened-by-the-life-changing-experience-of-puberty smiles, abounding in every corner of your cheeks.
Because what's more fun for babies than rubbing things on their faces?

Then; hand-drawings that will make you believe in the beauty of art again.
You have to admit. The girl is good at this.

So many designs....
And at recession-proof prices!!

But don't forget. We are Nigerians. When an event is holding - Food must be involved. And our super welfare director, Ire Adeniyi, was on point.
Black girls can be seen at night now. Thanks flash.

So we had small chops and juice rotating round for all attendees.
I had two cups of juice...   :D

We also had Chicken Republic come and show face there.
N600 for one chicken? Don't worry - I can just feast my eyes...

People bought and ate Ice Cream like it was a new thing in Nigeria...
Just yum

In the end... people had crazy fun...
Blooooo!!

People were overjoyed....
Such suspicious joy... I hope that is only 5 alive oo

Except when the MC told jokes...
The dry jokes just didn't end...

But all in all - thank God that the carnival was a success....
So much success...

Organizers were happy it worked out...
We're the best at this.

And now, we can't help but wait for the next event... what'll it be?
Health week? Picnics? A surprise birthday party for Jamike?
