Welcome to 200 level Medicine and Surgery. Here are some things you should know.

1. PEOPLE WILL LOOK DOWN ON YOU: Congrats on making it to 200 level. However, in the medical department you can't feel relaxed as failure will cost you alot. Being in the preclinical set comes with you constantly hearing statements of how you haven't seen anything hard before, or your courses are just a piece of cake compared to clinicals. These are true of course, but don't let such intimidation get to you, do your best at your present level.

The Advice Column - The girl I like won't talk to me

I have a problem, a big one.

There’s a girl I like and I’ve been toasting for like two months now, though I had to stop cuz of exam (carry over is not my portion). A few days before exam ended she surprised me though and said she wanted to meet on Friday night, the day before I was going home. I was all for it, something to enjoy before leaving school, but something now happened.

Dear TRJ,
Not sure if I am supposed to write this in letter format or not, but whatever. There’s a small problem I have and I wanted to see if you guys could give me some advice.

My birthday is coming up and my friends want us to throw a party, at home of course. I would have never agreed if it was during school. The problem now is that they want to bring alcohol and I feel somewhat hesitant about doing that, since it would be my first time taking it.

Some years ago, my best friend and I met two guys who were extremely close. One of them became my friend and got real close to me, the other also got close to my friend. After a while, we all started dating. I and the guy, my friend and the other guy.

Everything was okay for a while, then I got closer to the other guy (my friend’s boyfriend) and to my initial surprise we started getting intimate too. 
I then realized I really liked him and he liked me too. After a very long time of fighting it and equally doing everything we could to avoid it, I got tired and I could not continue with the deceit. I had found someone else I liked more than my boyfriend so I broke up with my boyfriend without no one’s consultation.

Stuck Between Waters

My story starts two years ago. I was in love with this girl and she loved me too or so I thought. We started dating after several months of friendship. 
One day, she called me and said that she had lost interest in the relationship,that it just didn’t work for her anymore. I tried to talk to her and hold on but after dragging on for days, I had to let her go. 

Her best friend who was my confidante and close friend who I met my girlfriend through, felt sorry for me and even tried stepping in and talking to her not to do it but it was all in vain all so much so it became alright with me. All through my pain and sadness, her friend was there for me and she didn’t care or look back. Months went by and I got even closer to her friend.

I think I am in love, I am sad, I am hungry, I feel heartbroken, I feel nervous, I feel hopeful and optimistic that all will turn out welI. I feel like sleeping, l feel like that class wouldn't hold, I feel like eating bread and beans, I feel like hitting her across the face...

The Killing Expectations – Romance

I strongly disagree with the picture up above. This is the kind of thing that gets relationships, that could have been great, messed up and destroyed. Communication is a two-way process. The phone works BOTH ways. If he refuses to call, then you should try to…. Don’t go giving up on a relationship because of pride. Pride is good for absolutely NOTHING but killing. It will kill your friendship, it will kill your relationships, it WILL kill your connections.

Online Advice

Ever do a google (or for reason i possibly cannot grasp - yahoo) search for something you needed help figuring out?

- Doing homework?

- Fixing a computer?

- Buying a new phone?

- Talking to girls?

I'm sure you've not only searched for help in SOMETHING, but also seen ridiculous questions and articles. You've most likely even seen a lot of useful ones too. Ones you may have never thought to look up but checked up anyway because it drew you - Maybe out of curiousity, maybe out of interest, maybe out of need or even anger.

The problem however, lies in the seemingly helpful articles that could either give you bad advice or give advice that turns out to be counterproductive.
