A LETTER TO MY BEST FRIEND

[7 min read]

I remember the first day I saw you, I mean actually saw you. We had always been in the same class, but for some unknown reasons, I just never saw you.

It was visiting day, and my parents couldn't make it, because they had to travel with my sick brother for treatment, so I was really unhappy. I didn't have so many friends and my only close friend, Jane, had disappeared without a trace. I was seated at my desk, flipping through my books, looking at my test scores and trying not to feel bad for myself, when I felt a light tap on my shoulder.

The Perfect Friend

[1 min read]

Boys and girls in the streets,
Laughing, joking, singing and dancing,
Making memories in the sun,
The summer sun in mid August.

Friends they think they really are,
Friends they think they have,
Friends they hope will never leave,
Friends who will still move from west to east.

Between A Rock And A Hard Place

[1 min read]

There are words too full in my mouth.
Too heavy in my chest.
These are words I can't express.
I've tried to swallow but I can't digest.

BANKSTATEMENTS POST 5

[3 mins read]

RIGHT  DOWN THE MIDDLE

Hi @bankstatements18.

I'm in a long distance relationship with a guy that really loves me but then I don't think I know what love is.

First and foremost, we are of different tribes and denominations.. I'm Catholic and my dad is strongly against me moving to another church.. Worst of all, marrying into this particular tribe he's from will be a big problem.

Where Were You?

WHERE WERE YOU
Kelechi Nwa-Uwa

Where were you when she needed you?
When she cried desperately for your attention?
When depression reared its ugly head?
When you were all she had left?

Did you even hear her call out for you?
Did you care?
Did her gradual withdrawal even occur to you?
Did you notice the tear streaks? Red eyes?
The cracked voice? The broken spirit?

BANKSTATEMENTS POST 4

Clogged In The Upstairs

Hi @bankstatements1,

Some years ago, my best friend and I met two guys who were extremely close. One of them became my friend and got real close to me, the other also got close to my friend. After a while, we all started dating. I and the guy, my friend and the other guy.

Everything was okay for a while, then I got closer to the other guy (my friend’s boyfriend) and to my initial surprise we started getting intimate too.
I then realized I really liked him and he liked me too. After a very long time of fighting it and equally doing everything we could to avoid it, I got tired and I could not continue with the deceit. I had found someone else I liked more than my boyfriend so I broke up with my boyfriend without no one’s consultation.

BANKSTATEMENTS POST 2

Stuck Between Waters

Hi, @bankstatements1

My story starts two years ago. I was in love with this girl and she loved me too or so I thought. We started dating after several months of friendship.
One day, she called me and said that she had lost interest in the relationship, that it just didn’t work for her anymore. I tried to talk to her and hold on but after dragging on for days, I had to let her go.

Her best friend who was my confidante and close friend who I met my girlfriend through, felt sorry for me and even tried stepping in and talking to her not to do it but it was all in vain all so much so it became alright with me. All through my pain and sadness, her friend was there for me and she didn’t care or look back. Months went by and I got even closer to her friend.

Bitter Like Pride

“A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and, of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you.”   C.S. LewisMere Christianity

I used to hold grudges a lot when I was younger. Planning for Africa, what I would do to all those who hurt me.

Dark, desperate, damaging thoughts.
I would not let these thoughts of revenge go. No, no... I would not let a single person get away with hurting me, or betrayal. I would not let a single tear slip unremitted.

The Case - Chapter Seven

Chapter Seven:

"My baby!", Jake cried, as he knelt near the useless scrap of metal that used to be his car.

Chris looked around to see if any of the girls were hurt. Jasmine had a little bruise from
the fall, but Susan was already up on her feet.

"Yup, definitely a gymnast", Chris mused.

The Case - Chapter Six

Chapter Six:

"We have to get out of here, there's no time to explain", the girl said.
"So what's your name, Goldilocks?", asked Jake, noticing her blonde hair.

"I assume that would be 'logical' for you to ask, since you look like a bear", Chris said to his friend.

Victim

Last week Wednesday, my phone was stolen at a local bus stop in Lagos. It was not a fun experience. I'm not going to regale you with the exact details in this post, because this post today isn't about the theft itself, but rather it's effect on my psyche, and the attitude of people around me who heard about it.

Sand and Stone

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: “TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.”

My Love Story

By Patsy

He was my childhood friend. I can't remember how exactly we met, but he was always around. They always talked about him and pushed me towards him and made sure he followed me everywhere. It caught on. I kinda built my life around him. I knew what he liked and disliked, and we talked every morning and night before I went to bed. He was mummy's ideal man for me.

But I grew up.

The Killing Expectations – Romance

I strongly disagree with the picture up above. This is the kind of thing that gets relationships, that could have been great, messed up and destroyed. Communication is a two-way process. The phone works BOTH ways. If he refuses to call, then you should try to…. Don’t go giving up on a relationship because of pride. Pride is good for absolutely NOTHING but killing. It will kill your friendship, it will kill your relationships, it WILL kill your connections.

Love is a Kolanut

Original by www.therealjamike.blogspot.com

Valentines day is coming fast and many people are asking the same question they do this period of the year.

"What is Love?"

Well. It's simple. Love is sex and kolanuts.

Yes. Once again. The kolanut saga lives on. I'm making a short article for once. Like really short. I know some people will be excessively happy today.
#Yay

Obviously being a very short article I will not go go too deep. Just taking an article swim through the shallow end of the ocean of love. I honestly hope you get that metaphor. Please comment below if you didn't so I know to avoid trying to be too creative all the time 😊.
Thank you.

So.

Love is sex. Let me explain.

School and The Monster

It's understandable that most people wouldn't like school since they look at it as a cage. Like a monster holding them in. They feel like they're literally in the belly of the beast they just wait for the time to finish up and the bell to ring so they can rush out and away ASAP. I'm talking about teenagers or young adults here by the way. They believe in that situation that they're like puppets on a string. They want freedom. They want space. They want to have fun.

Not so much to ask right? It seems that they only want so little which is in fact, really so much.

The thing is - young adults seem to be  concerned about doing everything else that there is to do outside the school that they've  start to want nothing to do either what goes on on it.

Why? Restrictions? Authority issues? Personal space? Nutella + Cookies?
