The Maggot and the Butterfly

Do you want secret tips on how to keep a good friendship forever...?

Well... we don't really have those. However, we will tell you how to try to avoid throwing away the ones that might end up being really good ones.

Do you know what The Maggot is? The Maggot is a bad friend. A bad influence. A danger to your life and progress.

I would have said "We all have bad friends" but that's not true. Some people have gotten rid of theirs. Some have not yet had any. But sometime in your life, they'll come. They always come. The choice then, is whether to let them stay.

Please do understand - having bad friends does not make you a bad person. But keeping them just might. Influence spreads insidiously - it's like radiation. All you need is is the right proximity, for it to do the wrong thing.

But before you even judge a person, as a threat to your moral integrity, you need first try to help them. There are many good people struggling with life choices, who try, but can't quite seem to shake off their muddied shackles - or they feel trapped in a cocoon of social and peer pressures to conform to the wrong things.

Sometimes you feel lost... and that's okay. It's alright, as long as you try to fix it... Because God is with you in the lost. God is with you in the found. Really. God is always with you.

In the world we live in;
- There are maggots - spoiling everywhere they go.
- There are the worms - that enjoy the darkness and the mud and all the forbidden depths of depravity.
- And then there are caterpillars - who, even with the terrors of a world of darkness threatening to collapse upon them, will emerge, from cocoons formed of distress and hate and tears, to fly.

So before you throw away "The Maggot" in your life, do make sure it's not a caterpillar meant to be a butterfly. Look closely at what you think is a maggot. You just might end up saying, "Oh!! A butterfly...."
