5 Things On Nigeria: The Good, the Bad and the gosh darn ugly.... (Part 1)

SO some of you outside might be wondering what you'll find if you ever come here to Nigeria, and some of you in here are actually wondering the truth of what there is to find in this country, There's a lot that each of us don't know, so I'm going to be making a regular post once in every long while to update and enlighten everyone on the Nigeria you know and the Nigeria you don't know....

The Good Things you should be aware of:

1. The food
The food in Nigeria is so amazing you could just stay there for ages eating it till your belly gives out. Not literally of course, but it sounds cool that way right? :D

2. The Clothes
The clothes in Nigeria are unique, stylish and top notch in the fashion world, celebrities from all over the world are even wearing the Nigerian Ankara, eg Beyonce

Beyonce on her ankara

3. The Discipline

Nigerians are very serious about matters relating to respect, order and authority. It helps keep the youth and rowdy people in check and enables them to get more serious minded through repetitive training. I'm sure you've heard of the Koboko promise "Restoring Nigerian Children To Their Default Settings since 1869" ;)

4. The People
The Country of Nigerian was voted to have the happiest citizens in the entire world. (For those of us who live here--> Funny huh? ) . Nigerians, most Nigerians anyways :P, naturally have an optimistic overview and hope for the future and life in general. At times Nigerians can show you the most amazing hospitality you would ever believe possible and make you wonder in amazement at they're empathy and love.

5. The Schools
Nigeria, contrary to popular belief, actually DOES have schools that deliver impressive quality of education in the country, and not just in the perceived "high class society states" like Abuja, Lagos, Enugu, Port Harcourt etc too. You can find these quality schools all over if you search diligently and thoroughly for them.

The Bad Things you should be aware of:(Though I hope you never really see these....)

1.The Food
Have you ever seen when Nigerians try the copy-and-paste routine with foreign food? More often than not - it fails, and WHEN it fails...... it fails epically.

2. The Clothes
Sometimes we Nigerian, (they Nigerians jare - I dress fine don;t I?.....don't I? :| ) take the concept of their "creativity" too far. Then we end up with all this (check down for picture) . The fact seems to be that there seems to be a common trend, the men usually just don;t now how to dress logically while the women don't know how to dress decently.

3. The Discipline
Honestly though? There are quite a few times when over-zealousness gets the better of some people, and their exemplary discipline structure becomes disgustingly all too violent :|

4. The People

Yes. There are times when even the happiest people on earth go on and just downright disappoint you. Not just Nigerians of course, I'm not going to bias against Nigerians and say it's just them, but practically any person or group can let down your expectations so tragically in EVERY ramification. The killings, burnings, stealing, manipulation and more. When a group of illogical Nigerians get together to form a mob, or anything that looks like a mob, please just take your time and gingerly run away. Quietly. Its never a good idea to stay there. It almost always results in tragedy. It's evil in the face of evil even. To those who are guilty of this. Please. Cure Yourself. ASAP. :|

5. The Schools
.....
Let me ask you something,...Do you think I need to say anything on this? Really? I'm not sure if this is needed to be elaborated upon. The schools in Nigeria. when you look at the majority of them, are in a deplorable state, not just in terms of infrastructure but in their quality of education delivered as well as the standard of personnel employed to deliver said education.

Glad you read it all, got any suggestions? Complaint? Comments? Ideas or any other kind of comment? Tell me whatsup in the comment section. Don't be afraid ....it's fun!! :D :D

Thanks for coming here :)
Love, Stars and Jam
