When my legs were tired she carried me
When I fell asleep she cradled me 

DISAPPOINTMENT AT “THE CRAVE” PARTY

The crave is a party organized by Biggie official and special guests: DJ Tefla and DJ Izzy. It took place at Alfa balgore hall on 27^th January 2018 from 4pm-11pm.

It was the first Abuad party of the year and there was a lot of hype about it on instagram and most especially within the school premises. The ticket was 500 naira which is pretty cheap for a party; this attracted a lot of audience and the ticket was sold out quickly. Here are some posts on Instagram to hype people about the party

Dear TRJ,

I have a story for you. I remember when I was much younger. In SS1 or SS2.

I had a friend named Michelle. I don't use that word friend easily here. We were like cat and dog, it was a struggle to be in the same room and not glare daggers at one another.

I don't know why. She was a pretty calm person.

So anyway, she had a younger brother named Philip, who was pretty cool. The thing is, I had a friend named Nnamdi who was infatuated with Michelle. It was a bonafide struggle for him to get close to her.

So one day, he asked me to accompany him to her house. I, being the kind of person that doesn't have a chance to go anywhere because of parents who keep me indoors to do nothing but study, was excited.

10 REASONS WE NEED AWESOME FRIENDS

At a point in life I felt like okay, friends don't really matter, I still have me. But friends do matter. They may sly you, or be annoying, mean or selfish sometimes. But if you have the right friends you will overcome all obstacles together. We all need friends. Here are few reasons why:

Looking good already.

1. SHARING JOKES:
Sometimes when we are going through posts or just reading or watching something. We tend to come across really funny things that makes us go all "LMAO" to ourselves. Having someone around to show such things and making them laugh makes the moment better.

2. GETTING FOOD:
Walking along that long hall, maybe in the cafeteria, or just getting food from outside, is a task most of us don't like to carryout  alone. We need someone to walk with and laugh with us even when nothing is funny, all just for company.

Ever ready.

3.STUDYING:
Most of us are in school or have been in a school so we can relate. Sometimes there's just no vibe to read, but seeing a friend reading a book or maybe a class note is enough to make you pause the movie you were on and get to work.

If you know, you know.

4.COMFORTER:
When things go wrong at times, maybe a really bad breakup, a lost possession / person, an accident or even mood swings. Having someone there to hold you and comfort you makes a bigger impact than you know.

5.NETFLIX AND CHILL:
Maybe a new movie just came out, you need to take a walk, someone to launch that new video game with, someone to talk and laugh with or you just want to be in another humans presence or arms. Friends are also there for chilling.

6. MEMORIES:
In life you need good people relationship to excel most times. Keeping good friends close is advisable, because no one knows where they will end up in life. It may be that old friend from 1st grade that gives you your destiny boost.

7.CHECKS AND BALANCES:
Some friends are as rare as an eclipse. These people help us keep ourselves together especially through rough times. They always tell us the truth and can even make us better people. If you need to keep friends, keep good ones.

8. HUMAN DIARY:
Sometimes really awesome things happen to us and we need someone we trust to share it with. I like to call those type of friends my diaries because I know they will understand and wont go blabbing it around or judging.

9.ADVENTURE:
Going on trips, excursions, to parties, dinners, or places you're not allowed😺. Its a big no-no doing any of these alone. Find the right partner in crime to make the experience worthwhile.

 10. FRIENDS KEEP US HAPPY: 
If you have a good friends the probability of you living a sad life is really low. Company has its own way of living us feeling loved and happy.

Yay them.

Last week, I was at a "girls’ night out", and we were discussing self-confidence, I didn’t get a chance to speak due to time however, and so I have decided to come share what I learnt; my insecurities and how I overcame them.

Growing up as a child, I was always called 'Oh Mary Mary Kampala', usually in a sing song manner. This habit actually started from my nursery two class teacher. It spread fast, and a lot of people picked up the habit. I didn’t really understand what was wrong with me and why people would seek to make fun of me, as I was 'daddy’s girl' and I got all the love in the world from him. As I grew, I started seeing myself in the mirror, I started realizing that I had different skin colours on me; some part of me was yellow (which is my actual colour) and some part of me was dark, like really dark. I had brown discolorations and I had dark, more like black patches on me. I then understood that I was different. It actually didn’t bother me as such because I had my family around me and they always made me feel better.

However, upon getting into secondary school it became a big issue for me, as I was in a boarding school. A roommate relocated from my room to another because she didn’t like the way I looked. I tried every cure that was given to me, nothing worked; rather, I started getting worse. I would have sudden discolorations on my face, arms, legs, thorax that wasn’t there before and they wouldn’t leave. I started to cry a lot and felt kind of depressed. When my parents asked me why I was sad, I found it hard to tell them for reasons beyond me. I was angry. I was angry at my dad; I was angry at myself for being ‘ugly’.  I could see my parents putting effort to make me feel and look better but it wasn’t helping matters, rather it depressed me even more. I have had people call me a tiger, I have issues wearing certain outfits or even rubbing white powder. I had issues with being comfortable around girls because they would always ask questions that I couldn’t answer.

Basically, being different hurt. Asides that, I was short and skinny. I kind of grew to become average height, but I haven’t got fat. Everyone is always bugging me about my size, either jokingly or intentionally. It always hurt. So, how did/do I cope? Sometimes I like to feel like I have the solution locked down. Maybe I do, maybe not.
