12 Things on Having Nigerian Parents

1. We all know this one for sure; relaxing somewhere at home and you hear your name being called, and walahi, when you go to answer, all you have to do is get the remote, key, phone or something just by their side.
5 inches away oo...

2. When we ask our parents if we can go visit a friend. "Go where?"... "Go and read your book".
Funny how the parents of those friends tell them the same thing.

3. They can be quick to judge at times. They see one of your friends and assume they are wayward, but once they hear the person is smart or at the top of the class.. they'll just assign you to a new best friend

4. Watching TV on a low volume - and they are shouting yet they still tell u to reduce it.
Please hit me up when they make headsets for televisions.

5. Sometimes when looking for clothes to wear in our wardrobe and we realize  like half of the clothes aren't ours. wardrobe turning into mummys' extension. She'll be like I'll take it later..
But we know that's never happening.

6. That moment when your mom says ' I didn't kill my mother so u wont kill me '

7. They have a way of giving us signals with their eyes. Especially when someone is asking or offering us something.

8.When a relative gives you money: Ask them later for the money - they'll be like, "all the food you have been eating since, where did you think it was coming from?" Also if they happen to borrow some money from you and you want it back.
Just know it's gone.

9. They always seem to shift blame to things we love.. like abi you  fell down because you are always using your phone and laptop.
How?

10. If you mistakenly burn food, there's no hiding it from your mother - even if she finds out hours later. It's like they have some super smell sense. After shouting at you. They will start asking if you will eat the food you burnt. Please someone tell me if that's a rhetorical questionπŸ˜…

11. Then the worst, if you can relate; when you are washing plates in the kitchen and mummy is gisting with you and using style to drop more for you.. sometimes you get this faceπŸ˜…

12. Finally, let's also not forget how all shapes and sizes of plates are used for storage of food stuff in the kitchen. Mothers love that particular aspect of recycling.
