When she cried desperately for your attention?

When depression reared its ugly head?

When you were all she had left?

Did you even hear her call out for you?

Did you care?

Did her gradual withdrawal even occur to you?

Did you notice the tear streaks? Red eyes?

The cracked voice? The broken spirit?

Where were you when all she wanted was an ear?

When she wasn't interested in her life anymore?

When she lost her fire?

When she needed reinforcement?

Had your petty gist suddenly become more important?

Had she really lost you too?

Had she come this far just to lose it all?

Had you even observed that she was slowly fading? Dying?

Losing hope? Giving in to the darkness?

But where were you when she wrote that note?

When she drew her scars?

When she tried to drown?

And tried again?

And again?

Where were you when she finally bought the gun?

When she pulled the trigger?

When she breathed her last breath?

Shed her last tear?

Fought her last fight?

Where were you, though..?
