All The Light We Cannot See [By Anthony Doerr] - Book Review

Review:
Open your eyes and see what you can with them before they close forever.

This is not the type of book everyone will find interesting. It'll take a deep reader to go through everything. Shallow readers will probably dump it after the first five chapters. Doerr didn't make this easy by his complicated form of narration that only ended up making the book unnecessarily long and a bit uncanny , although it didn't terribly detract from the story. I found the mystery gem part rather baseless and confusing.

In as much as it has its flaws, it also has its bright side. Sometimes you laugh, sometimes you feel the the wind on your skin or the touch of a shell against your fingertips or smile at the intriguing questions of children. Doerr carefully narrated the story of how two children, in the times of peril and war, struggled to survive. Another good thing about the book is the fact that the morals and lessons comes jumping right in front of you the very moment you begin to read.

Irrespective of its difficult and confusing plots, All the light we cannot see , is that book you would never want to ignore. Though, I got tired inbetween the lines, I still found myself coming back to it until it was completed.

Rating: 4.1/ 5.
