Wonder Woman (2017) - Movie Review

SUMMARY: Diana of Themyscira is the princess of the amazons, and their greatest warrior. She has lived with her people on their hidden island paradise for her whole life, until one day, Steve Trevor -an American pilot fighting in World War I, arrives on her island. Diana decides to help, leaving the island for the first time in her life, and is then thrust into a war to end all wars. She will have to fight alongside men, as she discovers the truth about the outside world and the true nature of mankind.

RATING: 8 /10

REVIEW: Gal Gadot did an excellent job in her role as wonder woman, performing with just the right mix of curiosity at the new world she’s seeing, naïveté at the how the world works, and badassery...

Leaving her home island for the first time, Diana is filled with visions of honor and integrity - in other words, delusions of grandeur. She was faced with the harsh realities of the world from the moment she landed on the shores of England. From the outrage she felt at the generals sending men out to die, to her sadness at the state of soldiers and civilians in the war.

Through it all though, Diana persevered, with more than just a little help from her companion, Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine) who supported her both physically and emotionally, as she faced the truths the world had to offer.

The movie was brilliant, with very few flaws; actually there was only one I could see: the surprising fact that despite one of her main weapons being a sword, barely anyone died when she fought them. Though, that may have just been a testament to her skill.

In summary, Wonder Woman is an excellent movie that is fun to watch and has its fair share of funny moments. DC Comics did not let us down with this movie and Diana was suitably badass.
