Quiet [By Susan Cain] - Book Review

About the Author:
Susan Horowitz Cain (born in 1968), was a former lawyer, an American writer and lecturer. She's the author of the 2012 non-fiction book; Quiet; The power of introverts in a world that cannot stop talking. The book Quiet, has been on the New York times bestseller list for over 3 years, and has been translated into 360 languages.

Review:
Today, introversion and extroversion are two of the most exhaustively researched subjects in psychology - arousing the curiosity of hundreds of scientists. In Quiet, Cain carefully analyzes the two types of personalities. She defines introverts as 'People that are drawn to the inner world of thoughts and feelings' and extroverts as 'People that are drawn to the external world of people and activities'. It is passionately argued, impressively researched and filled with indelible stories of real introverted people who ended up being extremely successful innovators of our time.

It is no new gist that our society, today, dramatically undervalues introverts by classifying them as having personality disorders. What's more amusing is the fact that even the introverted ones find it difficult to accept themselves as they really are. Some even see it as a disease.

Like every other literary work, it sure has it's flaws and shortcomings, but believe me when I tell you that it is worth your time. I think that many introverts will discover that even though they didn't know it, they have been waiting for this book all their lives.
