SUMMARY:
“When’s our next mission?”
“We’ll call you.”
Finally, Marvel’s cinematic take on
spider-man is here and it doesn’t disappoint! It’s equally fun and thrilling as
its other franchises but is it the original movie we’ve all been waiting for?
Mostly, yes!
RATING: 8.5/10
REVIEW:
Homecoming does a lot of great thing,s and goes out of its way
to breath new life into the wall crawler’s story without feeling forced. Marvel
did a great job on this movie (as always), as it shotguns us with laughs,
romance, action, mystery and adolescent shenanigans! But still, some qualities
we’ve come to love in spider-man are missing in our new Spidey, and the movie as
a whole. There was no core theme that resonated in the movie, it suggests and
plays on a lot of ideas about a modern day youth, but they all simply get
muddled in the narrative. Criticism aside, it’s undeniably remarkable that they
added it to the MCU (Marvel Cinematographic Universe) roster so successfully. I
can’t wait to see what they do with spider-man (Tom Holland) from here onward
